How You Can Help

Reach out to your elected officials through email, letters, phone calls, and social media. The opinions that count most to legislators are those of the people who live in their districts! Legislators and Governor Newsom need to hear from those most affected by this proposed cut—students, their families, and campus communities.

Tag your legislators and the Governor on social media, and share with them what the #CalGrantCan do for low-income students, and the impact it has not only on college access, but also on the future impact on California's economic recovery!

AICCU has created a campus tool kit to help with your advocacy efforts.

Find Your Legislators at:

Enter your address. (Remember, you can enter the zip codes for both your home and for school). Let them know your personal story in attending and financing your higher education. Share the benefits you see with the Cal Grant program and how strong of an investment it is towards the betterment of California’s future.

The California Students First Alliance (CSFA) is a coalition comprised of college and university students, campus leaders, administrators, and staff with the goal of protecting the Cal Grant program for deserving students. CSFA seeks to educate the public and policymakers regarding the benefits of the Cal Grant, not only for the low-income students that access the grants, but also the long-term benefits for the state. The Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities (AICCU) supports this coalition
